Hi, I'm Katelyn 💛
Meet The Finance Angel
I'm the founder of The Finance Angel — a financial coaching practice, podcast, and digital resource library built for people who feel like they're "bad with money" but have just never had a judgment-free space to actually understand it.
I don't believe in that phrase. Not for you, and not for the hundreds of people I've talked to who carry it like a permanent label. What I believe is that most of us were never taught how money actually works — and even fewer of us were taught how to make peace with it emotionally. Somewhere between the spreadsheets and the shame spirals, something got lost. My work is about finding it again.
How I Got Here
My relationship with money started the way most people's does: no roadmap, a lot of trial and error, and more than a few moments of feeling like everyone else had figured out something I hadn't. What changed things for me wasn't a single "aha" moment — it was realizing that financial confidence isn't about being perfect with a budget. It's about understanding your patterns, forgiving your past decisions, and building a system that actually fits your real life.
That realization is what The Finance Angel is built on. I built this business alongside a full-time career in finance, which means I know firsthand what it's like to try to get your financial life together while juggling a job, a schedule, and everything else pulling at your attention. This isn't advice from someone who's never lived it. It's built in the margins of a real life, for people living real lives.
The Credentials (Because They Matter)
I take the technical side of this work seriously:
- Dual B.S. in Business Administration — Accounting & Finance, with a minor in Energy Finance, from Oklahoma State University
- Five years of institutional grant accounting experience
- Currently pursuing an M.S. in Family Financial Planning, anticipated May 2027
- CPA currently in process
- Beginning the CFP® certification path after graduate school
I share this not to intimidate anyone, but because I want you to know that the warmth and the rigor aren't in competition here. You deserve both a coach who gets it emotionally and one who knows the numbers cold.
What "Financial Reset" Actually Means
A reset isn't a punishment. It's not about cutting up your cards or living on rice and beans for six months. A reset is a clear-eyed, judgment-free look at where you are — money scripts, spending habits, financial anxiety and all — followed by a realistic plan to move forward.
Here's how that shows up across my work:
The Podcast — Financial Reset with The Finance Angel
Weekly conversations exploring the psychology of money — the beliefs, habits, and stories we don't even realize are running the show.
1:1 Coaching
From a single async Budget Audit to ongoing Monthly Accountability, coaching here starts with understanding why your money habits look the way they do — not just correcting the numbers on a spreadsheet.
Templates & Digital Tools
Practical, plug-and-play resources for people who want a head start without a full coaching engagement.
A Quick Note on Scope
I care deeply about the emotional side of money — the shame, the avoidance, the anxiety that keeps so many people stuck. But I want to be transparent: financial coaching focuses on behaviors, patterns, and beliefs around money. It is not a substitute for mental health treatment, and if something bigger is going on, I'll always encourage you to pair this work with the right kind of support.
Let's Start Where You Are
You're not behind. You're not bad with money.
You just need a reset. 💛
No judgment. No shame. No pretending you should already know this. Just an honest look at your money and a plan that actually works for your life.
